THE social network for barbel anglers

Hi
Im new to the site and also new to barbel angling.

Last season has been my first barbeling and found it very enjoyable, not only fishing on the rivers but just getting out into the countryside and taking in the peace and quite ,pure magic.

My favourite rivers have been the teme/w avon and the severn, the teme is were i have had the best results after a pretty poor start, but by up grading my tackle (better hooks/line/a new rod)saw a better catch rate .

Dave.

Hi Dave,

Good luck on your barbel journey mate. Havent fished the teme much in the last couple of years, but coming back to the lower severn for a few more sessions this season, after a few years being almost completely side tracked by the warks avon. Three great rivers, all different, but all very enjoyable. Have fun.

Dave im a member of the free liners mate not fished the hampton load stretch but know a few who have mate. They tell me its a bit of a walk to the better pegs so travel light mate.Bit of advice if you want to get to know the water better is travel light just fish with the one rod and if you not caught with the hour move swims . Have a roam around and get to know the place.
