Hi i,m new to this site, and i,ll soon be visiting Wales. If anyone knows how to obtain permission on how to fish the river Taff at Radyr, weir area ,near Cardiff, as i,m visiting The rhondda Valley area,end of February. i,ve heard theres some very good Barbel, and Pike in this area, can anyone put some light on this, and how would I obtain permission, to fish. You can get day tickets for the Taff from Garry Evans tackle shop in Cardiff. They have a website with an address etc.
There are indeed Barbel at Radyr and other places on The Taff, but it is quite pressurised and is not an easy fishery by any means...........I have never heard of Pike from The Taff though ! Maybe someone could correct me, but i'm not even sure there are any in there !
Oh and The Grayling fishing is excellent at the moment, but I fear for the future with the amount of Cormorants present !
