At 10:28pm on August 31, 2009, rickey sutton said…: hi first post on here,well after curing myself of the carp affliction and spending way too much on all the gear and crap that comes with it im back on the river ribble fishing for barbel and anything else daft enough to take my bait,its nice to sit behind just one rod and actually watch for the bites, id forgotten how much concentration can be used watching the rod tip for taps.
Over the last 4 trips ive taken 8 barbel to seven pounds on simple rigs using pellet and maggots for bait also had most game fish and chub,roach and a multitude of eels (some people say theres a shortage of them but not on the ribble)
Im sure there are bigger barbs in the stretch im on,so ill just have to wait for a few to munch on my bait.
